URGENT SUPPORT NEEDED: HELP UKRAINIANS SURVIVE
As the war in Ukraine escalates and international aid dwindles, more people than ever are targeted by destruction, violence, and occupation. Nowhere is safe. Our teams risk their lives to keep other people alive. Donate today to continue our life-saving efforts in Ukraine. AID TO FRONTLINE COMMUNITIES
We distribute aid to frontline villages that are cut off from the outside world, trapped without power, heat, clean water, and food. Our fearless teams navigate shelling and damaged roads to deliver essential aid like food, water, blankets, hygiene supplies, medicine, and clothes to the elderly and people with disabilities who remain in these isolated villages.
COMMUNITY AND SHELTER FOR WOMEN
Russian troops are aggressively advancing on Ukrainian territory, forcing women and children to leave their homes. LHI’s Shelter in Lviv continues to thrive, housing people fleeing from frontline areas. Women grieving the loss of husbands and children can heal at the Women’s Empowerment Center in Lviv, where they can access mental wellbeing courses, counseling, and small business training.
CRITICAL MEDICAL AID
Ukraine’s frontline doctors treat civilians gravely wounded by shrapnel and perform major surgery—all without access to stable power and necessary supplies. We provide vital medical aid, empowering medical staff to treat more people and save lives on the frontlines
HEALING STARTS WITH COMMUNITY
Civilians are caught in the crossfire, their normal lives torn away and replaced with missile strikes, sirens, and uncertainty. Children and adults need help processing the immense trauma and grief they are experiencing. Our 7 Community Centers across Ukraine—from Lviv to Kherson to Kharkiv—provide healing therapy and emotional support. They’re a safe space for kids to learn and play, for mothers to gain practical skills, for people to find some sense of normalcy. This kind of mental healthcare and community is an essential part of our emergency response.
EMPOWERING OUR UKRAINIAN TEAMS
Our local teams show up everyday to make a difference—all while experiencing constant danger, grief, and trauma. The flood of need seems unstoppable, but we help our teams overcome burnout by sharing best practices and providing expertise. Helping the helpers is some of the most valuable humanitarian aid work that we do.
