CREATE A CLASSROOM IN JORDAN

There is not enough room for Syrian refugee kids to attend schools in Jordan. Over half of the Syrians who fled to Jordan to escape the civil war are under the age of 15. Even before to the influx of millions of refugees, Jordanian schools were already at capacity. And even after adding a second shift to accommodate the additional children, many still watch from the sidelines, hoping for a space at school. This back-to-school season, let’s get Syrian refugee kids back into school!

We have been piloting a successful modular classroom program where we place classroom structures at existing public schools. Each classroom accommodates an average of 40 children to attend school in 2 shifts each day. LHI installs the mobile classroom at a school, and Jordan’s Ministry of Education pays teacher salaries and takes care of maintenance. These classrooms are sturdy and include electrical connections, basic furniture and supplies, AND bathrooms.

Best of all, it only takes $13,000 to create each classroom. Over 5 years, that’s just $65 per child! Donate today to help us meet our fundraiser goal and let’s get Syrian children back to school!
