THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN VOLUNTEERING

We’re excited that you and your group are interested in hosting a service project to benefit refugees. We rely on volunteers like you to make our work possible, so thank you for joining us! Scroll down to see some easy ways to get involved, or click on a link below to jump directly to that section:

MAKE Aid kitS

Looking for a hands-on project perfect for volunteers of all ages that makes a meaningful difference? Gather your family or friends to assemble aid kits, from hygiene and school supplies for refugees overseas, to kitchen and bedding kits for families resettling in Utah. Just pick up new items from the list and drop off your finished kits at our American Fork warehouse or a drop-off location near you! One volunteer can typically assemble about 18-25 kits in one hour.

Please be aware that we are looking for standard, full-sized notebooks, and standard, full-sized shampoo, deodorant and toothpaste. No travel-sized items.

HOST A Supply Drive

Launch a supply drive to collect the most-needed items for refugee families! Promoting your own supply drive is one of the most effective ways to gather supplies for an LHI service project. Whether you’re organizing a drive at a school, neighborhood, or workplace, you can use printed and/or digital flyers to spread the word and invite others to participate.

MAKE Blankets

Purchase and tie fleece blankets (about 1.5-2 yards per blanket tends to work well). Here’s a tip: check out Hobby Lobby for sales on fleece, they have discounts every other week! One volunteer can typically cut and tie about 1 fleece blanket in one hour. We also accept quilts!

MAKE “You are Loved” Cards

LHI's signature "You Are Loved" cards go into every aid kit we distribute, a personal note of support and encouragement for individuals and families rebuilding their lives. Making them is easy and fun for all ages! Download and print the card template or use 3x5 index cards, decorate, and mail or drop off your finished cards at our warehouse in American Fork. We'll include them in our aid shipments.
