LHI Policy encompasses Public Policy, Legal Affairs, Interagency Collaboration, Community Participation and Governance, Institutional Development, and Technical Assistance. Our goals are to:

promote the inclusion of Latin Americans in the public health dialogue

educate Latin Americans in the methodology of effective civic participation

support the effective involvement of Latin Americans in policy making bodies in the public, voluntary, and private sectors

produce and disseminate relevant information for policy development

encourage policy makers to adopt equitable resource allocation practices that support the formation of practical collaborative ventures among diverse communities

assure that Latin Americans are treated fairly in the health care system and that the community is aware of its rights and responsibilities.
LHI is a founding member of the Latino National Health Collaborative and the New England Coalition for Health Equity, the Latin American Public Health Council, and plays a leadership role in various national, regional, statewide, and local coalitions and policy efforts.
